Food Allergy Safety Measures:
In Canada, the vanilla ice cream base is produced in a facility which also processes hazelnut liqueur.  However, most products are hand-finished in individual stores, in which peanuts and other nut-containing ingredients (used in products such as Blizzards) are prevalent. Dairy Queen Canadian Operations strongly advises that individuals with nut allergies inform store owners of this if they choose to order products from the store (some stores have signs posted to this effect). Some store owners (particularly in Western Canada) appear to be very aware of cross-contamination prevention measures which can be taken for serving nut-allergic individuals, but this should be discussed with the store manager and the risk assessed by the consumer.

In the USA, Dairy Queen ice cream and other base products are made by over 60 different subcontracted companies.  Dairy Queen USA cannot guarantee that their products are nut-free. As in Canada, nut-allergic consumers who choose to eat in a Dairy Queen store are asked to inform the store manager prior to ordering. Dairy Queen cannot guarantee that products ordered in-store will be safe from an allergy perspective.
