are consistently placed on packaging of
products that are at risk for allergen cross-contamination, a letter received from The Great Atlantic &

Enquiries about specific products can be made using the contact information given below."To protect the health and well being of our customers, we have adopted very strict allergen policies that our suppliers must adhere to.
Prior to a product reaching our store shelves, suppliers must submit a list of any allergens present on the manufacturing line or in their facility. If any allergens are present, they must supply us with a detailed allergen control plan, outlining the strict policies and procedures followed by their staff to ensure cross contamination does not occur. Random audits are done of our suppliers to ensure they are manufacturing according to our standards.
If a product is manufactured in a facility where we cannot be assured that there is no risk of cross contamination, then a warning is added to the package. Using this statement is a last resort, and we often try to use manufacturers that are peanut and nut free, or have implemented a strict and well designed allergen control plan.
We have allergen information on file for all of our products, including details about the types of nuts present and whether or not the product is manufactured on a dedicated line."
