Getting Your Prospects
to Come to You!
Your primary focus in this final step of
the web marketing process is to have potential customers find you, and
to attract return visits from those who are most predisposed to your offerings
(i.e. the 20% of your target market who bring 80% of your business).
Many people assume that obtaining good search engine rankings is the key
for the success of their site. While it is true that good search
engine rankings can bring a good amount of traffic to your site, this is
only one (and not necessarily the most important) activity you should engage
in to bring traffic (and repeat traffic) to your site.

In the full version of the tutorial, you
will be invited to spend some time following the links below, to learn
more about the web marketing process. Try out the active link in
the first and last lines below for a sample of some of the marketing tips
you can receive in the full tutorial!
-
Make effective use of "Attraction
Marketing Devices and Events".
-
As we discussed earlier in this tutorial,
provide responsive, personable customer service.
-
Seriously consider
providing a periodic e-mail newsletter to which customers can easily
subscribe (and unsubscribe as well!), or contributing to existing newsletters.
-
Another way of increasing
traffic to your site may be to join a related Webring.
-
The final way for increasing
traffic to your site is by obtaining good search engine rankings.
Obtaining good rankings with the major search engines is an ongoing, arduous,
and sometimes elusive task. Click here
to read more about this somewhat complex topic.
Throughout the full version of this tutorial,
you will have covered material which will enable you to:
-
Determine your target market, and subsequently
develop your primary marketing and website concept.
-
Determine and focus on your potential customers'
needs, and subsequently develop an appropriate marketing plan.
-
Create a strong initial "grab factor"
for your website.
-
Find your most potentially productive customers
on the Internet.
-
Understand how to keep on top of new developments
within your target population.
In the full version of this tutorial, you
would now be asked to complete an online evaluation form for the
tutorial. I'm always looking for ways to improve the quality and
learning experiences of my tutorials! You can always check back periodically
for new information and enhancements I make as well, since your user name
and password to the full version are never deleted.
