Counseling Aids in Allergy Advisor

Allergy Advisor's most recent functional additions are designed to act as counseling aids to dietitians working with those having diagnosed food allergies or intolerances.  These printable aids are primarily found on the program's Management Menu, and may be customized with the dietitian's practise information and bitmap logo (as it is entered through the Practise Details window).  Individualized instructions to the patient can also be developed and incorporated prior to printing.  Click on the links in the bullet points below to view pop-up screenshots of these new counseling features:

  • Very useful Diet Sheets are now available for many common allergens, and users can also create new ones (and if they so desire, share them other users through Allergy Advisor's Forum).  Many Diet Sheets have an introductory section with information about the allergy (printable on its own, without the other sections), and all Diet Sheets have sections about allowed and restricted foods, as well as substitutes and safety precautions.

  • More detailed information about substitutes, and printable "free-from [specified allergen]" recipes are also available.  Users can also create their own recipes.

  • Ingredient labeling terms to watch for "hidden" allergens can also be viewed and printed through the Management Menu.
