BRUNO, CALIFORNIA, APRIL 26, 2002.
First
DataBank has announced the release of Nutritionist Pro
Version 1.2, which incorporates new software features to
facilitate and expedite nutrition analysis. According to
Era Prakash, Product Manager, the new version uses
technology that "makes it much simpler to use,
easier to navigate through, and more capable of meeting
the needs of today's busy nutrition professionals."
Based on First
DataBank's nutrition knowledge base of over
18,000 foods, Nutritionist Pro uses the latest
technology to create a
streamlined database structure and intuitive Windows®-based
screen formats.
The result is fast, simple access to a rich source of
practical nutrition
information, which users can easily tailor to their
needs.
Nutritionist Pro Version 1.2 incorporates the following
new
features:
* Drag and Drop: Users can select a food item from the
search box,
"drag" the item and "drop" it into a
diet, recipe, or menu. This simplifies
and quickens the process of creating a project.
* Nutrient Query: Users can search the database with
specified
nutrient criteria. Results also display selected
nutrients' values.
* Data Extract: Report data from Nutritionist Pro is now
exportable
into other software programs, such as Microsoft® Excel®,
Word®, Access®, and
HTML.
* Macronutrients Graphs: A pie chart displaying
percentages for
macronutrients has been added for quick reference.
* New Nutrient Addition: Dietary Folate Equivalents have
been added to
the knowledge base, along with reports for thorough
nutrient analysis.
* Online Help: Access to Nutritionist Pro help has
become easier with
the addition of a "Help" button on the main
interface.
* 100g Foods Editor Column: Foods can now be scaled to
the standard
100g measure.
* Food Profiling: Foods, diets, and menus can be
profiled. Users can
select the nutrients for which they would like to view
values, and then sort
by ascending or descending nutrient values.
"For over eight years, thousands of nutrition
professionals have
used First DataBank nutrition software to save time, cut
costs and raise
their level of client services in hospitals, clinics,
universities, health
and fitness centers, private practices and a host of
other work
environments," noted Prakash. Recently introduced,
Nutritionist Pro software
strengthens those capabilities, with the following
features:
* Comprehensive diet, menu and recipe analysis
* Extensive client management capabilities
* Integrated exercise and weight-management features
* A variety of professional reporting options
* Creation of multiple, fast-access recipe books
* Creation of re-usable menu templates
